Newburyport vacation – post 1 of maybe 3 or 4

Chris and I went on a short getaway to Newburyport, MA. We stayedย (click here to see pictures of the house and the opportunity to rent it) in a beautiful 200+ year old house (built in 1795!) and we’re still thinking fondly of our stay. So quaint, so quiet … just lovely! ๐Ÿ™‚

More pics of the town to come, later!

Sunny blue skies, cool air … we’d lived in NYC for a whole week! Started off as a perfect day, until the country was turned on its ear.

Thinking of all the victims of 9/11 today.

Still on hiatus …

Still on hiatus …

Hi there! I’m still having an issue with neurological symptoms (ataxia, diminished feeling, tightness) and fatigue (I feel like I’m in a competition with who can sleep more – me or Matilda).

I still want to post about those three things I mentioned last, but this will have to do for now:

Matilda’s broken dish – diminished feeling in hands caused me to drop it

New dish – hanging on tight so as not to lose this one!

Okay – time for another nap.

Hope to blog again next month! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aaack! Too hot to post!

Aaack! Too hot to post!

I’m sorry that I haven’t been posting lately, but it’s just to darn hot and the computer is in the warmest room in the house and we do have an air conditioner but the cool air doesn’t reach this far and I’m making excuses of why I haven’t posted, so … THERE!

I will resume posting when the weather decides to cooperate.

Anniversary Dinner

Anniversary Dinner

Our plan was to go to New Leaf restaurant in Fort Tryon Park for dinner:

Beautiful, right?

It was, but it was HOT outside. I think it was 95 degrees or something. We got there, sat down (this was at 8pm and only one other couple was in there), ordered some wine, and looked at the menu:

Mains

Yeah … all I really wanted was a simple steak. Nothing quite as fancy as they had on the menu. Plus, I don’t really know what you get when you have bone marrow. To me, that’s something you feed the dog, but hey – to each their own. We were starting to melt and the red wine that we ordered was warmer than the room, so we gracefully bowed out (we talked to the waitress and she didn’t blame us). We gave the waitress $10 for her trouble and set out to find something more … us. As we walked, I reminded Chris what we had on our wedding night after the after-dinner drinks (let’s keep it clean people). He remembered and so we took a walk … to McDonald’s!!

McDonald’s!

That’s more like it! ๐Ÿ™‚
